The new CB1000R is built around a superbike-strong 998cc DOHC inline four engine. Basically, we took a CBR1000RR powerplant and retuned it to deliver a bare-knuckle blast of power that's perfect for street riding, with plenty of torque and power on tap. Better to take them (the forks) off, then take off the nuts that hold the rebound screws (there a big ole spring behind them so be careful) and just pour out the old oil.
There's an actual one called Seal Mate by MotionPro, or you can also use certain hard paper or plastic. Those things work very well and usually remove the dirt/gunk that's causing the leak.
